Starting from an old article of T. Luccherini, C. Cervini : Sport Medicine, Universe Publishing Company, Rome , 1960, 630 - 631, which refers to the results registered in 1960 Rome Olympics, the author wanted to accurately describe the physiological processes that are the basis of athletic training.
In particular, starting from the general syndrome , the conections with the operation of the hormonal system are highlighted and there are two types of interpretation:
- according to the first , it is better to help the functioning of the hormonal system for exogenously
- according to the second , it is better to stimulate the hormonal system through sports activity programmed using the physiological process of supercompensation.
The first way, easier and more popular especially between pharmaceutic companies, gave way to that uncontrollable spiral of drugs (doping), that even if there is an unanimous opposition, swept and still overwhelms sports world and brings it to a faster increase in performance but also to provoke inevitable negative consequences to the person.
The second way, instead, provides a precise program of training based on a cyclical organization of the training load and tends to enhance the intrinsic phenomenon of supercompensation so as to enhance the body more slowly, but unquestionably producing longer lasting effects and without in any way put at risk the health of the athlete.
The programming of training based on these principles, undoubtedly lead to a total body strengthening both in terms of physiological and psychological point of view.
This is proved by the sharp smile of satisfaction and security of the winner.
Conversely, doping is a form of weakening of the organism both in terms of functional and psychological point of view. Just try to remember the mortification of those athletes, ALL OBVIOUSLY INNOCENT, which are taken from a medal because tested positive for banned substances.
